This is the Latest Review of The Last Days of American Crime Movie Netflix. The Last Days of American Crime (2020) – Review, Recap, Ending, Summary. It is Released on 5 June 2020. It is directed by Olivier Megaton.
We’re going to have another trade review today it’s going to be the last days of American crime by Rick Remender and Greta Cheney the premise of the book is basically it’s the near future and um because of all the crime and domestic terrorism and craziness that’s going on in the country America.
The American government is going to broadcast this mind control signal which is going to stop people it’s going to somehow stop people from being able to knowingly break the law or normally commit acts that they know that they did not wrong and in conjunction with this. I expect that you will like my review and summary.
They are also going to change the monetary system so no longer we’re gonna be using paper currency everybody’s when we have these sort of cards that have all their money and information on them and as part of the change over I guess the banks have these kind of converter boxes that have everybody’s funds on them I guess and I guess you’ll go to when the changeover happens.
You’ll go to the bank and then they’ll give you your card based on whatever information is on these boxes I think that’s how it works a cheerleader exactly but the converter boxes are the MacGuffin another story basically the lead character wants to steal one of the converter boxes from the bank that he works at and you know I guess the converter box has all the funds everybody’s funds that go to the bank it’s all theme.
I hope that you must have liked my summary. He wants to steal them in you know to leave the country right with the changeover happens and you can’t do it alone so he hires a couple of partners with its partners are these two computer hackers one is this woman on the cover here and the other is her boyfriend he’s what we’ll get to it we’ll get to that in a moment but yes these two is this woman her boys and a main character kind of team-up meanwhile there’s this gang I guess that after the main character for some old beast.
That’s been going on since before the story that started so basically the story is them planning the heist trying to stay one step ahead of the gang is after the main character and of course, there are all kinds of twists and turns it’s the different characters and their own personal agendas and things like that so that’s kind of the setup, in a nutshell, more or less of the main characters in the book.
He was kind of seasonable for in other crime stories and actions and things like that the main character is a little bit over the hill he’s kind of middle-aged dude he’s the middle-aged badass you know in the past he’s been in and out of jail he’s younger he’s obviously very street smart he’s also you know the very tough very physical guy.
He’s been trying to go straight for you know the last several years but now with the whole broadcast thing that’s going to happen in and the money changeover or whatever he sees this as his last chance to make that one big score the main female pretty much you’re kind of stereotypical thing, Fatale beautiful woman uses her sexuality to manipulate people and like the summary.
She’s working all types of angles you know if she’s working this person where she’s working that person or how loyal she is or how loyal she is in and not too sure what you’re not sure as a reader as well as the other characters aren’t so sure she’s telling her truth and when she’s lying so you know like I said that kind of thing for Tao her boyfriend.
He’s a guy that you see a lot in like movies over the last I don’t know how many years but he’s kind of a variation on that character that either you know the dapper psychopath or the grinning psychotic he’s this guy that looks a little bit slight he’s always smiling he’s kind of a smartass and he doesn’t look like he’s physically imposing and like my summary.
We see more and more from we find out he’s actually the most dangerous person in the whole story now, for the most part, I like the story even though I feel it’s kind of shallow I don’t know how to describe it kind of I don’t know if you’ve watched action movies at any time over the last 35 years.
If you see Quentin Tarantino movie um you’ve kind of know what you’re in for its really fast-paced lots of over-the-top action lots of ultraviolence a lot of attending sets nappy patter it’s not like I said imitation necessarily of like putting Tarantino or anybody or in particular but you know you see you’ve seen a lot of tropes that are in use before and it’s not as rigid as the original.
It could be could have been you know it’s not the characters don’t have as much depth of fate could have the plot twist aren’t list that you couldn’t have seen coming even like I said it’s not bad but you kind of feel like you’ve seen bits before the whole thing with the mind control but lots not really done with it until you get to the climax and then we get to the climax you buy it at the moment but you also kind of think wait a minute if what this person says it’s true and this person could figure that out.
Wouldn’t the powers that be figure that out too you know what I mean um it just it’s just one of those things it’s one of those days that well yeah I guess I can’t come up with a good word for it but you just think to wait if this person could figure that out.
I hope that you would like my review. Why wouldn’t if somebody else have figured it out as well so yeah would really sell me on this on the comic though is the art I think Greg to do she’s visuals here are really nice looking really beautiful art I really like you know the coloring everything is paneled layouts and storytelling.
They’re a little bit flashy but they stage just actually there are a lot flashing to tell your truth but they stay just this side from there never so flashing that it distracting you don’t, for the most part, I’ll say you don’t find yourself in situations and like this review.
Where you don’t know what’s going on for the most part like I said there are some times when the action gets going and you feel like it’s like an action movie where they start doing a Shakin cam you know what I mean and you’re like wait.
Let’s just pull back a little bit so that we can see what’s happening but uh well like I said I really love this kind of weird pastel look or whatever makes me think of like I don’t know Miami Vice or something like that that cool kind of visual look or whatever I don’t know if anybody remembers when my anybody’s first came on supposedly.
When was pitched to the network they pitched it as MTV cops seriously that’s not a bad description of this comic itself lots of flashes lots of for lack of a better word you know quick editing jump from place to place a lot. It is really a great review.
The visuals carry a lot of it, okay so I guess that’s pretty much it um two-dimensional characters kind of a shallow story quick place lots of action beautiful art and I think it’s enjoyable or on maybe official level so uh so I guess that’s it thank you very much for watching on the video you guys have a great day.
