Season 1: The Woods – Review, and Summary. Are you Going to watch then you need to read this Review before watching? The Woods (2020) – Review, Recap, Ending, Summary.Main Stars: Grzegorz Damiecki. It is Released on 12 June 2020. It is created by Harlan Coben.
If you go down to the woods today you’re a big supply and welcome to the reboot Tuesday my name is Ruben and this is my review for Netflix’s original series the woods follows a prosecutor named Paul Copeland in Warsaw Poland who investigates the own solve the disappearance of his sister 25 years ago when she walked into the forest at a summer camp and never returned so there are six episodes.
There are just under an hour-long or about fifty minutes long and this is the third series that we’ve seen Netflix now take from the Harlan Coben books the novels that are very well-loved as a great following we’ve seen safe which I thought was pretty good and then we saw the stranger which I thought was really interesting and so I thought I would do my review in the woods today so I hope you don’t mind the noise of the wind because that’s what the woods is like.
I really like this although I thought there was a lot of padding it’s six episodes I felt like it could have been a miniseries of three so you do follow this prosecutor who’s trying to find his sister and you follow two timelines one at this camp so you see the story unfold in this camp and then it jumps to 2019. I know that you will like the summary. Where you see him trying to solve another case but also there’s the hope that a system might still be alive.
It’s the investigation of him trying to find out what actually happened by him trying to remember as something unfolds there’s a new investigation to the story in 2019 and so he has to try and find it if the hopes are it that maybe his sister is alive and that’s what drives the series forward which I really like the cinematography in this is a tackler really enjoyed it it’s probably the best thing about this series apart from the acting I thought the acting all round is pretty good even from the young teens.
They were very good at the characters that were supposed to portray supposed to that they portrayed there is a really eerie feeling in the woods which they’re supposed to be so it really grinds that tone down with the score on music and like my summary. I really enjoyed the kind of just compact the feeling that you’re meant to be getting which I thought was the best part so you have this so much that looks great now.
If the acting which is very good and then you have these actors that are portraying their characters very well which I liked I have to say though because of the padding even though it looks great it really feels like each episode drags on there’s a like a 20-minute segment from each episode that you could probably cut because of that padding so cinematography looks great but they take a long time to get to any destination.
There’s lots of dramatic music and you know Samba dark tones in the school in the background that is good and it’s all fantastic but because it drags out you always feeling like oh when are they gonna get to the point but in true fashion in the Holland koban novels the story really comes to its own it shines when you get to the reveals much like there’s that much like the stranger and safe when you get to that last episode all those questions that you want are revealed except for me. It is a great summary and hops that you gonna like it.
When you get to the last like literally last 10 seconds there’s something that I wasn’t quite sure what they were trying to do there I think they answered the question but you don’t quite know maybe you can tell me in the comments once you’ve seen it I wasn’t sure what they were trying to do with it it made me a little bit frustrated with what they were trying to do there also there is no English dubbing yet it’s so windy there’s no English dubbing yet so you have to read the subtitles.
If you don’t like subtitle series and you’re gonna struggle with this although I did feel like the subtitles were the right way to go really puts you in the moment with the characters you get to grips with what they trying to show you through the inflections of their emotions that they’re trying to show you there is some sex in various age groups so if you get offended easily by sex on-screen.
You’re probably not going to enjoy this as a whole I think it’s good but I don’t think it’s the strongest out of the three I still think the strangers the best safe was alright this will probably my placement is the second so you have the stranger number one this number two and like the review safe number three so do check them in the comments below what you thought about this sorry about the wind I hope a branch doesn’t fall on my head as I’m recording this and my wife’s.
You might be a little bit disappointed because they do change a few things from the book to the series which is I guess normal you normally have that adaptation and some stuff gets left out or changed so yeah I’d love to know what you thought if you read the book the comparison would be interesting very. well acted very well put together. I hope that you would like my review.
